Western Veterinary Conference Honors Merial Veterinarian for Leadership and Service

Duluth, Ga. – April 2015 – Joe Dedrickson, DVM, Ph.D., Merial Veterinary Professional
Services, was recently presented with a Special Recognition Award at the 87th Annual
Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas.

The award is given to individuals who offer long-time leadership and service, and assist
the WVC Conference in specifically defined areas that benefit the membership and
contribute to the success of the organization.

Dedrickson earned the honor by moderating cow/calf and stocker/feedlot sessions at
the conference nearly every year since 1992. In addition, he has chaired three sessions
on cattle parasitology and several luncheons covering the cattle products available from
Merial, a regular sponsor at the industry conference.

"Dr. Dedrickson represents Merial very well in numerous ways," says Bruce Nosky, DVM,
Director, Merial Large Animal Veterinary Services. "Some stay below the radar for years,
but his value to Merial on both professional and public relations platforms is substantial.
It’s great to see the WVC recognize the years of Joe’s contribution and dedication to the
organization."

Dedrickson was one of five Special Recognition Award recipients this year.

"Merial has sponsored many of the sessions I have chaired throughout the years, and
it’s been an honor to represent our great company at this conference," Dedrickson says.
"Next year will be my 25th time working with the WVC. I guess they couldn’t get rid of
me, so they gave me a plaque this year at the President’s Reception!"

The WVC’s mission is to provide the highest quality, year-round continuing education to
veterinary health care professionals by engaging recognized authorities to deliver
valuable information utilizing innovative and effective methodologies, and to enhance
animal and human health worldwide.
